Another World Cup eludes Rahul Dravid, Twitter reacts

first_imgWest Indies ended India’s unbeaten run in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2016 to clinch their maiden title. The junior Caribbean side thumped Dravid’s boys by five wickets on Sunday in Dhaka. (Also read: U-19 World Cup – Heartbreak for India as West Indies clinch maiden title) Skipper Shimron Hetmyer’s team also ended India’s 15-match winning streak with the win in the final. Indian batsmen had no answers to West Indies’ pace bowling attack on a green top at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. New-ball bowler Alzarri Joseph ran through India’s top-order. Sarfraz Khan was the top-scorer for India scoring his fifth half-century of the tournament. (Also read: How Dravid’s boys failed to cross the final hurdle) In reply, Indian bowlers tried hard to defend a total of 145, but West Indies’ Keacy Karty and Keemo Paul batted responsibly to lead their team to glory.The cricket fraternity was all praise for the youngsters from West Indies.
