PICO RIVERA – After only seven months on the job, Pico Rivera City Clerk Vida Tolman is calling it quits, saying Tuesday she wants more time to spend with her new family. Tolman was appointed Oct. 3 by the City Council in a 3-0 vote. She submitted her letter of resignation April 30. Thursday will be her last day at work. With a wedding planned for August, Tolman will become step-mother to her fiance’s 7-year-old daughter – a job she wants to “give 100 percent to,” “You only have one chance to do [childrearing] right,” she said.
